If you answered YES to any of the above then you need to see Gina Lee. Gina was a schoolmate of mine in college however much to my surprise after several decades I meet her again and she found out she is an expert alternative healing therapist.
I have actually heard from some batch mates that she is one of the top if not that top acupuncturist in the country. Only after several years did I encounter her again and it is not only acupuncture she is good at but several healing modalities which she uses on her patients depending on the ailment.
I interviewed Gina on how she was able to gain such knowledge and experience and apparently she studied with the masters. She studied Acupuncture on her own like many of the practitioners locally however she flew to Beijing to further hone her skills. She studied and trained one on one with Professor Tu Feng, TCM practitioner and medical doctor. His line was along the area of Orthopedic and Traumatology and under him was where she gained significant insights on Accupuncture and Tuina.
Tuina is a medical method using the arms, hands, fingers, elbows and knees as tools for treating diseases and illnesses. Tuina is also used to protect health and build up body immunity, so that disease can be stopped in its beginning acting as a preventative medical measure, without any side effects. Gina says that Tuina is a form of orthopedic massage which entails bone setting.
She also studied with some of the top alternative doctors of Nanjing, China. She was a personal student of some internationally renowned Accupuncturist such as Kiiko Matsumoto and Eva Chau as well as Dr. Ming. While in China, Gina also took up Chinese herbal therapy.
Gina is also a Reiki master. She took up Reiki more than a decade ago under an American Reiki master who regularly visited the Philippines.
Reiki is a holistic, light-touch, energy-based modality. Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki re-establishes a normal energy flow of ki (life force energy) throughout the system, which in turn can enhance and accelerate the body's innate healing ability. Through a series of hand positions either directly on or just above the body, the energy worker allows for the flow of energy through their body.
She decided to study this so she can help her ailing dad who had cancer of the blood. According to a Naturopath from Hongkong, he got this through pesticide posoning.
In Hongkong, she studied Cranio Sacral Theraphy, a system of alternative medicine intended to relieve pain and tension by gentle manipulations of the skull. She uses this treatment to relax her patients which also includes special children who are hyperactive.
She also took up the Dorn Method under Thomas Zudrell, a German Dorn practitioner who taught the modality in the Philippines, more than a decade ago.
Recently she has included the Emmett technique in her practice and she is the only certified practitioner on this locally. Emmett Technique is a safe and simple muscle release therapy developed by Remedial Therapist Ross Emmett. It is used to address pain and discomfort, improve body movement and can restore a positive emotional state.
To be continued.....
